HISTORIC CHURCH BELL RESTORED AND RE-INSTALLED
If you've been joining worship online you may have missed the joyful sound ringing forth from the top of First on Fourth. Yes, our bell is back and is ringing again to announce Sunday services!
It's been over a year since a storm dislodged our bell from its cradle, and it's been quite a journey to get it back. Our insurance company generously paid for the renovation that involved shipping the bell to its maker in Cincinnati for repair and replacement of some of the hardware (cradle, clapper and etc.). Having logged more than 3,000 miles on its road trip, our 800 lb bell was hoisted back on the roof and reinstalled on Veteran's Day, November 11.
